Feeling cared for
starts with
feeling known.

You deserve to feel heard, understand your options, and leave with a plan that makes sense for your life.

ROOTED HERE

The community that helped take care of me.

I’m Katie Carstens, a Physician Assistant, wife, mom, and lifelong western Wisconsin girl. I grew up in Hammond, in the kind of small town where people knew each other, looked out for each other, and helped when someone needed it.

I didn’t realize it then, but that shaped the way I would eventually practice healthcare. Today, I get to care for people in the same part of Wisconsin that helped shape me.

When you sit down with me, I don’t want you to feel like the next appointment on the schedule. I want to understand what’s actually going on in your life and help you find a path forward that makes sense for you.

WHY I BECAME A PA

I wanted to do more.

Near the end of college, I realized I wanted to work directly with people and make a meaningful difference in their lives.

Before becoming a Physician Assistant, I worked in a wellness center. It showed me how hard people were trying to take care of themselves—and how often they lacked the information, support, or resources they needed.

Becoming a PA gave me the opportunity to sit one-on-one with people, listen, and help them figure out what healthier could realistically look like for them.

HOW I THINK ABOUT CARE

A partner. A conversation.
A realistic next step.

Over the years, one message has come through again and again: people want to feel heard. I want you to understand your options and feel like an active participant in your own healthcare.

I don’t believe better health means changing everything overnight. Sometimes the best place to start is one small change with nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, or another area that matters to you.

LIFE OUTSIDE THE CLINIC

The everyday things matter.

The roles I value most are being a wife and mom. I love being outside, staying active, hearing people’s stories, and—when life gives me a quiet moment—curling up under a blanket with a good book.

Most of all, I want people to feel like they have a trusted partner in their health journey.

A LITTLE MORE PERSPECTIVE

Healthcare should feel more human.
